Dermal Fillers are injectables designed to replace lost volume in the deeper tissues of the face. They can be used to restore lost volume in our midface, cheeks and jawline, and to soften lines and wrinkles in the areas of the face which may have become slightly deflated over time. The effects should always be subtle – you will look exactly like you, only healthier, more youthful and refreshed. We only use the very highest quality dermal fillers in our clinics and have a gradual approach to revolumisation - adding the minimal volume required for a desired effect, then adding more sequentially to avoid an overfilled unnatural appearance. We follow the mantra "replace, don't create" - i.e. replace and restore lost volume, don't try to add volume to create structures that are not appropriate for an individual's face.
-
The majority of the Dermal Fillers we use in our clinics are made from a substance known as Hyaluronic acid, a synthetically produced but naturally occurring glycoprotein found in the skin in all animals. Hyaluronic acid acts as a structural molecule in our skin and also as a humectant, meaning it binds water molecules to keep our skin hydrated. Hyaluronic acid Dermal Fillers contain molecules that are bound together by cross-links into cohesive gels, meaning they hold their shape when injected into areas where we aim to replace lost volume. When these are injected strategically under the skin in areas of predictable volume loss, they naturally restore the contours of the face in a subtle and gentle way. The body naturally breaks down hyaluronic acid so over time the fillers are reabsorbed safely into the body with no lasting effects. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be removed using injections of an enzyme known as hyaluronidase if there are any problems encountered following a filler treatment. We occasionally use Collagen stimulating fillers for areas such as the hands. These function in a similar way to hyaluronic acid fillers but have longer lasting effects due to longer term collagen stimulation.

Dermal fillers are an excellent treatment for volume loss and deep lines with almost no downtime and fast results. Fillers are particularly effective for restoring lost volume in the mid and lower face, reducing the appearance of tear trough grooves and jowls, and subtly changing the shape of the nose without the need for surgery.
-
As our faces age, we tend to lose volume in a very predictable way, and our faces begin to sag, creating deep furrows, tear troughs, marionette lines, and folds, and jowls start to form. Dermal fillers aim to replace this lost volume in a subtle yet effective way.
We also offer Dermal Fillers for Lip Enhancement, Jawline and Chin enhancement, Tear Trough and for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty.
-
Dermal Fillers work extremely well in conjunction with other treatments including Anti-Wrinkle Injections for fine lines and wrinkles, and skin boosters such as Profhilo to rejuvenate the skin itself, and soften the signs of ageing.
-
There can be raised bumps or slight redness from injection points but this usually subsides within a couple of hours. With any injectables there is a chance that bruising and/or swelling may occur. Bruising and swelling will usually appear within 48 hours from treatment. To reduce the risk of bruising we suggest that you avoid omega-3 fatty acid supplements, blood thinners and alcohol for 48 hours prior to your injectable treatments.

At our clinic we pride ourselves as being a leading clinic in the U.K. for natural-looking dermal filler treatments. Dermal filler treatments should only ever be done in a minimalistic way to replace lost volume. An odd look can be created when too much filler is used (you've probably noticed this in certain people who have had excessive revolumisation) so we have a gradual approach with dermal fillers, injecting minimal volume then adding to this over several sessions if need be, to ensure an entirely normal looking revolumisation. You will look like yourself, but more rested and fresher. You should never look like you've had dermal filler injected after a good treatment.

Yes - we frequently inject dermal fillers at the same time as anti-wrinkle injection treatments
-
As a London leading clinic for natural dermal filler treatments, we only use the very highest quality hyaluronic acid dermal filler products, including Juvederm Vycross® and Teoxane products. Most fillers will last for 12-18 months and will gradually break down over this time.
-
Yes - we have a gradual, controlled approach with dermal filler injections to ensure we avoid unnatural looking results. We will usually use a minimal volume in initial treatments which can be added to at any stage. We charge per syringe, so an additional syringe or two may be added at any stage as needed to achieve the best result in your individual case.
-
Following dermal filler treatments, we recommend being careful not to touch the area excessively in the first 6 hours or so as this can increase the risk of swelling. We also recommend sleeping slightly propped up, on your back rather than your side, perhaps with an extra pillow or two to reduce the risk of swelling. You may also take an over the counter antihistamine (such as piroton, clarityn or fexofenadine) to reduce the risk of swelling before you go to bed on the day of your filler treatment, and on the following day, to reduce swelling. Bruising can be treated with topical arnica gel or cream. Exercise is best avoided for 24 hours post treatment to reduce the risk of swelling.
-
We recommend not wearing makeup around the injected areas for 12 hours after the treatment to reduce the risk of skin infections. Mineral-based makeup including Oxygenetix may be used on the area immediately after the treatment and we would recommend using a sunscreen on the area (such as our ALL DAY LONG moisturiser) to protect the skin, which may be sensitive the day after your treatment.
-
Yes - you can start your normal skincare routine on the evening of your treatment. We would recommend using a sunscreen on the area (such as our HIGHER POWER moisturiser) to protect the skin, which may be sensitive the day after your treatment.
